Other Sectors

While WWF has prioritized certain sectors, advancing water stewardship means having an open mind to opportunities to work with leading companies in other sectors.

WWF is always interested in opportunities to change the game. Whether that is guiding  sector-leading companies water strategies or supporting scaled implementation in basins, WWF remains actively engaged in many partnerships outside of the specific sectors noted. Indeed, some of WWF’s largest and longest-standing collective action programs globally are in some of these diverse sectors. In particular, for these other sectors, WWF is particularly interested in working on a collective action. From working in basins, to engaging with sectoral industry bodies/organisations to enhance water initiatives in the sector, WWF is open to progressive partnerships.

WWF will remain engaged at a sectoral level with several sectors (mainly through sector-level associations) in particular, including:

  • Mining
  • Electronics
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Chemicals

Notable WWF transformational corporate partnerships with companies in other sectors include:

  • AstraZeneca (Pharmaceuticals)
  • Beiersdorf (FMCG - Cosmetics)
  • CHEP (Forestry)
  • Novozymes (Biotechnology)
  • Mondi (Forestry)
  • Sappi (Forestry)
  • WEPA (FMCG – Household Tissue Products)
