David Barnes has been a member of the Board of Trustees of WWF-UK and the Treasurer of WWF-UK since October 2022.

David is a member of WWF-UK’s Finance & Business Committee, Audit Committee and Investments Committee.

Prior to joining WWF-UK, David was the Global Head of Regulatory and Public Policy at Deloitte, responsible for the firm’s relationship with a broad range of stakeholders and regularly attending the Global Board and Global Executive.

Previously he held roles on the Executive and Board of Deloitte in the UK (serving for a term as Chair of the Audit Committee) and was the chair of Deloitte in Switzerland.

He ran Arthur Andersen’s and then Deloitte’s financial services audit business for a combined period of 10 years and throughout his career worked with a range of large public and private banks, insurance companies and investment managers.

David retired from Deloitte in May 2023.
